New website offers members one-stop portal for IFRS information

A new one-stop web portal launched in October at www.cica.ca now offers members easy access to a wealth of information to help them manage Canada’s changeover to international reporting standards. The new Transition to International Standards web is part of the CA profession’s commitment to helping members develop a seamless and effective transition to the new financial reporting rules for public companies that take effect in 2011.

Members can access the site by clicking on the Transition to International Standards button located on the home page of the ICAN website. You will also be able to reach the portal through the CICA web site at www.cica.ca.

The website represents a unique consolidation of IFRS resources located in one convenient spot. The comprehensive roster of material includes self-study options, seminars, links to international resources, industry-specific information and other tools to help CAs and other financial executives begin the learning and implementation process. As the deadline for conversion approaches, the CICA will continue to build and refine the information contained on the site.
