Where the Professional Conduct Committee refers or makes a charge to the disciplinary committee, formal
hearings are instituted and conducted according to prescribed rules of procedure. Where a violation of
by-laws or rules of professional conduct or practice standards has occurred, sanctions will be ordered
consisting of one or more of the following:

reprimand
-
fine payable to the Institute
-
suspension
-
expulsion
Decisions of the Discipline Committee may be appealed to the Board. The Institute's professional conduct and
disciplinary proceedings do not preclude a member from seeking civil remedies through the court system.
