Members of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Newfoundland offer free income tax services to senior
citizens and low-income residents during the months of March and April of each year. These clinics are held
at designated areas in Newfoundland including St. John's/Mount Pearl, Corner Brook, Gander, and Grand
Falls-Windsor. This program is coordinated by the Institute's Communications Committee in conjunction with a
number of public practice firms.
Members volunteer their time to be available for consultation and assistance in the completion of income tax
returns at a number of public clinics. The exact dates and location of these clinics are broadcast by public
service announcements in the local media.
The program is available to senior citizens with total personal income of $25,000, and other individuals with
income of $20,000 or less qualify for this free service. The program excludes all persons with
self-employment or rental income or income from foreign sources.
